Input coverage: Note On messages from MIDI notes 0–127 are accepted on all 16 MIDI channels. Velocity is used as reaction strength.

Drum Pads: kick 35/36 • snare 38/40 • hats 42/44/46. Other notes are received but intentionally do not trigger a drum reaction.
Piano: every note reacts — notes below 48 drive low/gravity, 48–71 drive mids/waves, and 72+ drive highs/color. Pitch class also shifts hue.
Crazy: every note reacts and perturbs multiple visual controls.

Default CC map: CC1 Curl • CC2 Vortex Spin • CC3 Gravity • CC4 Waves • CC5 Flow Speed • CC6 Color Motion • CC7 Trail Persistence • CC8 Fiber Width.

Black Hole Style → The Novelty replaces each event-horizon disk with the upside-down smiley from The Novelty logo. The symbol stays locked to the gravity-well center and scales with Hole Size; gravity, vortex spin, movement, particle absorption, density response, and accretion disks continue working normally. The logo is embedded directly in this HTML file.

One capture device: choose a microphone, interface input, aggregate/virtual input, or loopback source from Audio 1. The visualizer analyzes exposed channels 1–16 simultaneously and never sends audio to speakers or a Web Audio destination.

EQ bands: Low 20–250 Hz • Mid 250–2,000 Hz • High 2,000–20,000 Hz.

Audio and MIDI processing happen locally in this browser session. The instrument does not contain upload, recording, analytics, or server-audio code. Device permission is controlled by your browser and operating system. For public hosting, serve this file over HTTPS so browser audio/MIDI permissions can function normally.
